After the Patrick Robinson collection, Target will launch the HIGHLY anticipated Libertine collection on July 15th and from the look of these preview images, this time around we will not be disappointed. A lot of people have been saying this collection is boring and it’s all been done before but I personally feel there a lot of great details and many wearable pieces. I’m especially excited for the denim and the striped dress.
These are high res photos and feel free to share them, just please link back to me! Thanks!! <3 GMJ

Pingback: Painfully Hip » new Go! International line for Target by Libertine
What are you talking about, dodo? This stuff is RAD!!!!!
ahh. are you kidding? im so sick of the other target lines being boring. :] im beyond excited. and a lot of it is very vintage inspired (shirts with big bows, dresses) it’s a perfect mix. libertine is love.
Yawn. The last great Go International line was from Behnaz Sarafpour. I wanted almost every piece. Looking at this…how many bow blouses do I need? What’s new and different about this one? Preppy argyle and skulls — so 20 minutes ago. So much of this looks like Lily Pulitzer rip offs. Not exciting, not unique — tired, and even worse, old. Not vintage, not classic…just old.
Next!
I just saw the first of the collection yesterday at a local Target store. Not all the pieces shown here are on the racks (yet?). And there are other pieces there that aren’t shown here. There’s a grey tank top with scalloped neckline & screen print of a raven (except quoth this raven “Libertine” via a little banner coming out of his mouth). The dress they have is not navy/white striped but a mousy greyish beige (that is not flattering on me at all!).
I am 37 and can wear a few of the pieces, but definitely not most of them… Every piece seems to be cut/sized differently and might flatter a different body type. Having said that the sizing is relatively generous and you don’t have to be a stick to look good in the stuff. I’m something like a true 8-10 on top and I could wear the size M tops. The size 11 pants fit me which I think is true to size, but they were off-white so were unflattering to my hips.
There’s a white eyelet blouse with elbow-length puffy sleeves exactly like the kelly green one above, I’d say that’s the only thing that I could actually wear to the office with a straight face.
The pink vest with skulls is paper thin knit fabric and the design is actually printed, not intarsia knit, which I guess is to be expected for 24.99! I bought it though not sure if I can get away with wearing it while I teach college students. They’ll either think I’m really cool or really uncool… I may have to return it or resell on Ebay… It does however look great with the exact blouse pictured above.
There’s a white blouse shown in August issue of Glamour that I did not see in store. Hoping they’ll roll it out soon since it also looks office-friendly.
There’s a luscious silk cami in the same style as teh dress pictured above, with wide elasticized black lace waistband and shoulder straps. Super cute but accentuated my post-baby belly so I reluctantly put it back. The silk snags very easily (also does so on the champagne-colored tie front blouse shown above) so file your nails before you shop!
Wow, what a bunch of ugly stuff! Then again, I’m a 31 year old mom of three, so I’m probably way out of style (although I’ve liked some of the other GO lines).
Emily thanks for all your input. I have been on vacation so I didn’t get to check out the line on launch day but I am heading over there tomorrow and checking out all those pieces!!
love the stuff, but you can lose the spiders and ravens. most of the slacks won’t fit me-would you consider a size 15 so us hip cougars can wear them? absolutely love the line-bought champagne silk blouse, rhinestone black jacket, creepy-awesome tree t-shirt, libertine shirt, midnight blue camisole, all the slacks (and am keeping in case i lose weight) bolero jacket, can’t find jeans yet and some other pieces. BTW, the stuff is flying off the shelves in Atlanta, I had to go to three targets to get sizes for me in all the pieces I wanted. More, please, and thanks, well done!!
